On Tuesday, May 30, 2017, Wilma Louise Pettis Johnson Coleman departed this life at home with her daughters caring for her. She was the daughter of the late Julian and Violet Wood Johnson. She was born in Mineral, Virginia on May 28, 1932.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Coleman of sixty years, one son, Charlie, and two daughters, June and Kim Dale Coleman, and a brother, Johnnie Johnson, and three sisters, Alice Daphrine Wood, Lois Gardner, and Vernell Nuckols.
Wilma was a lifelong member of the Watch Tower Baptist Church, in Buckner Virginia. She was educated in the public school system of Louisa County at the Louisa Training School.
Her hobbies while in good health included cooking, gardening, reading the weekly Central Virginia newspaper, and serving on the Bumpass, Virginia Rescue Squad Committee.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and she will be forever remembered by her family and many friends. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild will remember her especially for her guidance, training them to be good citizens and stewards, and what it means to live Christian lives.
Wilma is survived by three dedicated daughters, Theresa Coleman and Whitney Coleman of Mineral, Virginia, and Jewel Mason of Keswick, Virginia; three grandchildren, Lawrence Kincaid Coleman of Mineral, Virginia, Andre William Mason (Rhonda) of Mechanicsville, Virginia, and Janelle Crystal Mason of Norfolk, Virginia; one special great granddaughter, Olivia Lauren Mason of Mechanicsville, Virginia. She is also survived by two sisters, Clienth Graves (Ernest, Sr.) and Madeline Mickens (Gordon); three brothers, Morris Johnson (Elanora), Kenneth Johnson (Eavon), and Julian "Carol" Johnson. Also, she has 13 nieces and 14 nephews, extended family, and friends. Her devoted friends, Loretta Cosby, Alice Johnson, Louise Warden, and Dorothy Chandler; special neighbors, Chris Woodson and Arthur "Jack Rabbit" Mallory.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Laurel Hill Baptist Church 7652 Kentucky Spring Road Mineral, VA 23117.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
