William Henry Pendleton, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2014, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He was born in Lousia, Virginia on September 29, 1929 to the late George Pendleton and Victoria Clark. Many friends and relatives knew him as Bill or Mr. Bill.
William attended school in Lousia County, graduated from high school, then moved to Philadelphia in 1951, where he shared his life with his beloved wife, Bertha Pendleton. William held several jobs including being a welder for over twenty years for the American Pulley Company.
He was the loving father to three children, Carolyn, William Jr. and Norman. He took pride in working on cars and helping others. This Christian man had a strong hand and a good heart. He knew, believed and took God as his personal Savior. William was also a member of Woodcrest United Church of Christ in Philadelphia.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Bertha Pendleton; son, Norman Pendleton; brothers, Floyde, Harry, Henry and George Pendleton; sisters, Martha Pendleton and Mary (Susie) Dandridge.
William leaves to cherish his precious memories: a daughter, Carolyn Pendleton and a son, William Pendleton Jr.; two sisters, Mildred Johnson and Alice Morris; one brother, Robert Pendleton; two daughters–in-law, Madeline Garcia Pendleton and Vanessa Thomasson Pendleton; five grandchildren, Bill, Eric, Melissa, Brittany and Tiffany Pendleton; three great grandchildren, Promysse, Eric and Adam and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel, Louisa, VA. Interment will follow in the Spring Grove Memorial Cemetery, Mineral, VA. The Reverend Wesley Pendleton will be officiating.
