William Samuel Grooms 50, departed this life on Saturday October 1, 2011 in Louisa, VA. He was the second child born to William Broadus and the late Julia Mae Grooms on August 3, 1961. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elder Joseph William and Frances Grooms and one sister Darlene Estelle Grooms.

Samuel joined the Evergreen Bible Way Church at an early age. He was educated in the Louisa County School system.

He was affectionately known by his family and friends as "Sammy" and was a happy go lucky guy that didn't worry about yesterday or tomorrow, but lived for each day. Sammy will always be remembered for his smile and his sense of humor.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two children, daughter, Tawanda Burruss of Louisa and son Natrell Parrish of Fluvanna; his father, William Broadus Grooms and step mother Phyllis Grooms of Louisa; one brother, Anthony Broadus Grooms of Louisa; four sisters, Connie Henson of Louisa, Theresa Burgess of Charlottesville, Carolyn Grooms of Fluvanna and Fannie Grooms of Charlottesville; a host of nieces , nephews relatives and friends.

Vewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2011. Graveside services will be held at noon Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Burgess family cemetery.
