William Broadus Grooms of Louisa, VA entered into eternal rest on Friday January 1, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on April 17, 1942 in Louisa, VA to the late Elder Joseph William Grooms and the late Mother Frances Ragland Grooms.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers Joseph, Roosevelt, Freddie and Charles Grooms. One sister Nannie Richardson. One daughter Darlene E. Grooms and one son William S. Grooms.

He was educated in the Louisa County Public Schools and was employed for many years at the Louisa Saw Mill. He was known by his family and friends as "Will". He was baptized at an early age at Foster Creek Baptist Church he later joined the Evergreen Bible Way Church under the leadership of his father Elder Joseph W. Grooms. "Will" was an avid hunter that loved the great outdoors. Over the years he raised and cared for many different animals. He enjoyed siting in the yard and chatting it up with his friends and members of the community.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his life partner of over thirty years Phyllis Grooms, one sister Frances Parrish (Roger) of Fluvanna, one son Anthony Grooms of Charlottesville, four daughters Connie Henson (Melvin) of Louisa, Theresa Burgess of Charlottesville, Fannie Grooms(Edward) of Charlottesville and Carolyn Grooms of Fluvanna, three stepdaughters Gail Howard(Harry)of Louisa, Katina Mills of Louisa and Teresa Johnson(Sean) of Gordonsville,18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, one aunt Bessie Cherry of Louisa, one uncle Nathaniel Grooms of Louisa one devoted nephew Freddie Johnson Jr. "Junie Pop" of Louisa and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. He will forever be remembered as a quiet humble man that loved his animals, his family and his friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2015 at Evergreen Bible Way Church 1576 Evergreen Road Louisa, Virginia 23093. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
