Wayne Edward Schanke, 75, of Louisa, Virginia died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at University of Virginia Hospital. Mr. Schanke was a Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife Flip Schanke, five children; Lydia Bundy, Philip Schanke, Evelyn Schanke, Edward Schanke, and Katherine Schanke; five grandchildren, Jeremian Schanke, Joshua and Rebecca Ward, Wayne and Heather Sarver; two great-grandchildren; Shyanne Ward and Christopher Jenkens, Jr. Mr. Schanke was a member of VFW and American Legion of Springfield, Virginia. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, September 25, 2008 at St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church Mineral, Virginia. Interment will follow at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
