Walter Franklin (Scrap) Anderson, was born January 28, 1935, in Louisa County, Virginia. He departed this life suddenly at his home on Wednesday, February 1, 2012.

He was the son of the late Howard and Jessie Anderson.

Walter joined the Philippi Christian Church at an early age and was an active member until he moved to Washington, D.C.

He attended the Louisa County Public Schools and he worked several jobs. He was employed at a Reality Company for 10 years in Washington, D. C. Later, he moved to Richmond, VA where he worked for Henrico County Public Works as a truck driver for 15 years until he retired.

Besides his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his sister, Angie L. Mallory and four brothers, Richard, Howard, Raymond and James Anderson.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a wife, Clarissa Anderson of Richmond, VA; one step son, Lennie Johnson of Richmond; brothers, Warren-Blue Anderson (Arlean) of Montpelier and Kenneth Anderson of Louisa; four sisters-n-law, Shirley Anderson of Washington, D.C., Julia McClary and Sarah Anderson of Richmond and Corrine Anderson of Mineral, VA; two devoted nieces, Margaret and Barbara; other nieces; eleven nephews, a host of great nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Reverend House will serve as officiant and Rev. Temple Anderson, eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
