Virginia Clarice James, 88, of Kents Store, VA died Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Martha Jefferson Hospital Charlottesville,VA.
Answered her call to move from Earth to Glory. Born in Fluvanna County, November 20, 1923 to the late Cliff James and Sadie Johnson Grooms James. Her brother, Roy James and sister, Dorothy Grooms, preceded her in death.
Virginia was graduate of S. C. Abrams High School, Fluvanna County and a life-long member of Galilee Baptist Church, Kents Store, VA where she sang in the Senior Choir, worked in the kitchen and served as the Church Clerk for more than 60 years.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Bettye Ragland-Earley (Donald); a devoted nephew, Ronald Holland (Cheryl); two nieces, Shawnta James and Angela Moore (Rick); two great nephews, Karron James and Nathaniel James Sheler ; a great niece, Kennedy James and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Galilee Baptist Church 3598 Three Notch Road Ferncliff,VA 23053, with the Rev. Otis R. Spellman offficiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
