Vernet Gloria Plummer Coleman Clark was called to her eternal rest on Saturday, August 08, 2009.
She was born on May 6, 1936 in Washington, DC, to the late Augustus Moore and Evelyn Gloria Stewart. She was the oldest of seven children.

Vernet was educated in the public schools of the District of Columbia; she graduated from Burdick Nursing School as a Licensed Practical Nurse and continued her education at American University where she received certification as an Auditor.

In a career that spanned nearly 55 years, Vernet was employed as a nurse with the Old Children Hospital and continued her nursing career with Veterans Administrative Hospital. She later transferred to the General Accounting Office as an Auditor for the federal government from which she retired.

Vernet was joined in holy matrimony to John Samuel Coleman and to this union two children were born, LaVerne Beverly and Michelle Linda. She was later married to Julius Clark on September 25, 1976.

At an early age Vernet accepted Christ, united with the Providence Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Rev. G. Ellington Stevenson, Sr. She was a dedicated and active member of the Sunday School, Senior Choir, and the Progressive Adult Guild. She remained a faithful member until she moved to Louisa, Virginia, where she united with Watch Tower Baptist Church and was President of the Usher Board and also attended Mount Garland bible study and Sunday School.

She was a Girl Scout Leader, VUU Booster for her grandson Rashad, always active with Ebony and Tyrone school at Piedmont, member of the Boston Terrier Club of Maryland, which she raised Boston's for breeding and show. She loved to crochet, canning food and preserves and when well enough always would help with the feeding of the needing.

Vernet leaves to cherish her memory, husband Julius; daughters, LaVerne B. Rodgers (Robert) and Michelle Harden; sons ,Jerome Watson and Julius Clark, Jr.; grandchildren, Randy Brown, Rashad L. Rodgers, Ebony Ross, Tyrone Clark, Karin Watson and Jaquain Clark; great grand, Jordan Christian; brothers, Ezekiel, Harold (Frances),Francis (Dorothy) and Durwin (Maggie); her sister Gwendolyn Jean Plummer Ross and her brother Ronald Edwin Plummer who preceded her in death;
nephews and nieces, Keith Plummer, Nate Plummer ( Melissa) ,Michael Plummer, William Ross (Karen), Marcus Plummer, Felicia Plummer Spruill (Anthony), Shani Plummer, Moniece Plummer, Monica Plummer Champ (Andre) and Jennifer Plummer;
great nieces and nephews ,Anthony, Jr, Jonte', Aaron and Michael Spruill, Jada Plummer, Alexandra and Ryan Ross, Karen Reynolds Noel; her God daughter and many cousins and a host of friends.

A wake will be held from 10 a.m until noon at the church.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon Friday, August 14, 2009 at Watchtower Baptist Church, 375 Pottiesville Road, Bumpass, Virginia 23024 with the Rev. Edward R. Moody, officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Grove Memorial Garden Cemetery Mineral, Virginia
