On Monday, September 12, 2022, Valerie Nicole Dixon , loving mother, daughter, sister and fiance, passed away surrounded by her family at VCU Critical Care Hospital at 9:32 p.m. She was 32 years old.

Valerie was born on November 24, 1989 in Newport News, VA at Riverside Regional Medical Center to Dawson Dixon, Jr. and Laura (Salyers) Gray. She is proceeded in death by father, Dawson Dixon, Jr., and maternal grandparents, James K. Salyers and Vivian L. Renaud as well as paternal grandparents, Betty J. Dixon and Dawson Dixon, Sr.

A lover of family, painting, poetry and music, she was known for her huge heart, quick wit, infectious laugh and her kind, compassionate spirit. Valerie is survived by her fiancé, Byron Bridgewater and 4 children, 2 daughters Kaelynn and Ryleigh and 2 sons Jacob "Dawson" and Maverick; her mother and stepfather, Laura and Don Gray of Louisa; her 3 sisters, Brooke Bova and Janice Athas of Hampton and Christina Dixon of Louisa and 3 brothers, Michael Riddle of Pensacola, Donnie Gray of Chester Gap and David Gray of Culpeper. She also had many nieces, nephews, other family and friends that she loved dearly.

At a later date to be determined, the family will receive guests and hold a celebration of life at Central Virginia Assembly of God in Mineral, VA.
