Tressie Alfreda Johnson known as "Baby" to many departed her life on March 19, 2009, at her home in Louisa, Virginia. She was born on February 17, 1929, in Louisa, Virginia, born to the late Joseph and Sallie Burruss. She was preceded in death by her husband John O. Johnson, son Napoleon Johnson and daughter, Shirley Barrett.
She was a faithful member of the House Of God, Gordonsville, Virginia, under the leadership of Apostle Randolph Ragland, and Co-Pastor James Ragland. Her favorite room in the house was the kitchen, where she loved to cook and bake for family, friends, and others, always using a secret recipe.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Dorothy Barrett, three sons Milton Johnson, Robert Johnson, and Arthur (Cindy) Johnson all of Louisa, Virginia; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, two daughters–in-law, one son-in-law, two sisters-in- law, a special cousin whom she called her sister, Cora Scott, of Louisa, a special friend, Joyce Johnson of Charlottesville, Virginia, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel with Co-Pastor James Ragland officiating. Interment will follow in the Family Cemetery.
