On Wednesday morning, September 9, 2015, God dispatched his darling angel from heaven and gently took the hand of our dearly loved one, a devoted brother, uncle, great-uncle, great-great uncle, a caring cousin and a true friend – Thomas Henry "Pie" Henson.


"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7


Thomas Henry "Pie" Henson was born on December 22, 1948 to the late Dorothy Henson and Robert Johnson. He was preceded in death by one brother: Charles E. Henson; one sister: Pearline E. Henson; a nephew, Calvin J. Henson; six uncles: Herbert, James, Alfred, Lawrence, Early and James Henry; five aunts: Erma, Edith, Mattie, Lillie Mae and Alice Henson; maternal grandparents: Moten E. and Rosa G. Henson; paternal grandparents: Earnest and Alice Johnson.

Thomas "Pie" was educated in the Louisa County Public Schools. He joined Rising Sun Baptist Church at an early age under the pastoral leadership of the Reverend John L. Tyler and was a faithful member. He was employed for many years at Trade Winds of Virginia until his health began to fail.

Thomas "Pie" leaves to cherish his memories a devoted sister: Pauline (Sally); two devoted nephews: Thomas "Mike" and Gerald (Doris); nieces: Linda and Shelia; three devoted great nieces: Cierra, Nia, and Morgan; nephews: Charles and Lance; devoted cousins: Gladys Anderson, Grace, Tashena (Jayshon), Lawrence (Ann), Rev. Wesley L. Henson (Barbara); five additional aunts; Mary E. Waller (David), Martha Jackson (Spencer), Shirley Hunter (Lester), Thelma Leonard (Jerome), Alice L. Brown, and a host of other relatives and friends. Special Family and friends include: Mr. Joe Sawyer, Mr. Wade Dickerson, Mr. Floyd Jackson, Ms. Patricia Wells, Ms. Carrie Yancey, Mrs. Lorraine Jackson and family - all who loved him and will miss him greatly.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2015 at
Rising Sun Baptist Church, 6829 Fredericks Hall Road Mineral, VA 23117 with Rev. Philip A. Carter officiating and Rev. Frederick Sales eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
