Theresa Warren Barnes was born on April 6, 1964 in Charlottesville, VA to the late Thomas Edward Warren, Sr. and Annie Ruth Warren. Theresa was the fifth of twelve siblings. Theresa joined Orange Grove Baptist Church at an early age and attended regularly until she moved to South Haven, Mississippi.
Theresa graduated from Orange County High School. After graduating, she was employed as a Nanny for a Movie Director which allowed her to travel across the country. She later moved to Charlottesville, VA and worked at Technicolor as a Manager. She met and married Ricky Barnes. She was relocated to South Haven Mississippi where she continued as Manger of Technicolor. After many years in South Haven, Mississippi, she moved back to Orange, VA.
The simplest pleasure in life brought great joy to Theresa. She enjoyed time with family, friends, yearly vacations, cooking (her famous broccoli casserole), playing cards, decorating and fixing gift baskets.
Theresa was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. When the Cowboys played the Redskins (Oops! Commanders), she really had fun with that.
Theresa gained her heavenly wings on Thursday, December 7, 2023 after a long courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her family. She was a cherished mother, a loving daughter, a great sister, a wonderful grandmother, an amazing aunt and a dear friend to all who knew her. Though her presence will be missed, Theresa made it a priority to make many memories that will last forever.
Theresa is preceded in death by her son, Johnathan (Jay) Warren, her father, Thomas Edward Warren, Sr., her paternal grandmother, Lucille Warren Lewis Moss and maternal grandfather, Rufus Minor.
Theresa leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, LaKendra Murphy and Kesha Bishop; grandchildren, Makeyra Warren (whom she raised), Jaisiah, Cameron, McKenna, Jaylynn, Marli, Laylianah, Kazire, Akyria, and Makadynce; beloved mother, Annie Warren; five brothers, Thomas Warren, Jr. (Gail), John Warren (Aimee), Tyrone Warren (Ann) all of Unionville, VA, Marcus Warren (Jennifer) of Crozet, VA, Charles Warren of Orange, VA; six sisters, Kathe Warren, Angela Warren and Paula Warren all of Orange, VA, Sharon Lucas and Pamela Warren Washington ( Lee) of Unionville, VA, Karen Harris (Michael) of Okinawa Japan, and grandmother, Etta Coleman of Spotsylvania, VA.
Theresa also leaves to cherish her memory a very special friend Eric Braxton; two best friends, Sharon Washington and Edith Washington; a large host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
