Thelma "Lou" Jones entered into her eternal rest on January 2, 2011 at Golden Living Convalescent Center in Petersburg, VA.

Thelma Jones was born on April 11, 1924, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis Henson in Louisa, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin T. Jones; son, Lloyd Henson and daughter, Mary Smith.

Thelma accepted Christ at an early age and attended Rising Sun Baptist Church in Mineral, VA.

Thelma leaves to cherish her precious memories, her loving and devoted daughter, Della Taylor (Martin Sr.) of Petersburg, VA; two sons, Lewis (Elaine) Henson of Mineral, VA and Charles Henson of Louisa, VA and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Loretta Henson, both of Mineral, VA. Thelma also leaves her grandchildren, Katrina Hunter of Louisa, VA, Matt Smith of Annapolis, MD, Maurice (Cynthia) Smith of Louisa, VA, Marvin Smith of Louisa, VA, Matthias (Vonettia) Smith of Louisa, VA, Melvin (Literia) Jones and Marvin Jones, both of Petersburg, VA, Lance Hunter of Louisa, VA, Jessica Jones of Hopewell, VA, Martin Taylor Jr. of Petersburg, VA and Timothy Clem of Louisa, VA. She also leaves behind a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Rising Sun Baptist Church, 6829 Fredericks Hall Road, Mineral,VA. Interment will follow in the Henson Family cemetery.
