Thelma Winn Coleman was born in Louisa, Virginia on November 2, 1932 to the late Ernest and Ora Winn she departed this on life on Thursday, November 15, 2007. Thelma was a graduate of the Louisa Training School. On December 27, 1950, she was joined in holy matrimony to the late Clevious Wilmore Coleman, Jr. To this union eight children were born. One preceded her in death. As a young adult, Thelma became a faithful member of the Holy Church of God where she was a member of the Gospel Chorus, Pastor's Aide, and served as Church Secretary for over 26 years. In 1998 God led Thelma to move her membership to Mt. Sinai Solid Rock Church of Christ in Rhodesville, Virginia. She served faithfully there until her health declined. Thelma was a quiet person with a meek spirit, she was known as a woman of great faith. She would often state that she took God to be a great God in her life. She was a virtuous woman that served God from her heart. Thelma enjoyed sewing, quilting, needle point, crocheting, embroidery, and puzzles. Thelma was the oldest of five children and was preceded in death by her brothers Marvin, Richard, and John Winn. Her memories will be cherished by her two sons, Gary (Lisa) Coleman of Mineral, Virginia; and Gregory (Juliet) Coleman of Spotsylvania, Virginia; five daughters, Barbara Campbell of Spotsylvania; Shirley (Wilson) Moody of Orange, Virginia; Marieta (George) Carter of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; Janice Bullock of Louisa, Virginia and Kathy (Harold) Adams of Spotsylvania, Virginia., she is also survived by one sister Julia Winn of Washington, D.C., four sisters-in-law, Gloria Coleman of Rego Park, New York., Arnisha (Larry) Thurston of Washington, D.C., Nan (Elwood) Coleman of Richmond, Virginia and Diane Winn of Spotsylvania, Virginia., brother-in-law Franklin Coleman and Franklin Burley and his wife Eleanor of Orange, Virginia. Mrs. Coleman is also survived by two aunts, Rose Poindexter of Washington, D.C., and Fannie Washington of Mineral, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 19, 2007 in the Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel with Elder Linwood Sawyer, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in the family cemetery.
