Sylvester Wilson Whiters was born on December 22, 1945 to the late James and Susie Whiters in Louisa County Virginia.
After a long illness, Sylvester went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 28, 2015 at The Laurels of University Park. Throughout Sylvester illness his brother, Grifton was always at his side, sacrificially giving of himself to make sure he was taken care of by the doctors and nurses.
At a young age Sylvester joined Watch Tower Baptist Church in Bumpass, Virginia.
For many years he worked at Woodfork Lumber Company in Buckner, Virginia.
Sylvester enjoyed watching the western channel on TV. Some of his favorite shows were Rifleman, Wagon Train and Wyatt Earp.
Sylvester leaves to cherish his memory, two brothers: Gurney (Sandy) Whiters of Philadelphia, PA; Grifton (Darlean) Whiters of Fredericksburg, VA; two sisters Lucy Whiters and Susie Whiters both of Washington, DC. and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Edward R. Moody, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Whiters Family Cemetery Buckner Road Bumpass, VA.
