Susie Brooks Davis was born on May 11, 1933, to Ruth and Bustard Brooks. She departed this life on April 14, 2014 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, VA.
Susie was frequently called "Ms. Susie" by all her friends that did not call her mom. She was known to have a kind and gentle soul to go with her beautiful smile and that laugh that could not be forgotten.
Susie joined Eagle Baptist Church as a child and continued to be an active member, contributor, and Deaconess. God lead her path in all that she accomplished, including being a member of The Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Association Choir and The Eagle Baptist Choir.  She was also a member of the Louisa Branch NAACP.

She attended the Louisa Training School and later owned and operated Ms. Susie Home Daycare. She provided care for over 100 children.
In addition to her parents, her brothers, Junior Brooks and Frank Brooks; sister, Mildred Simms and two grandsons, Brian Garland and Barry Mallory preceed her in death.

Susie leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Mr. Arthur Lee Davis Sr.; her children, Junior Hiter (Shirley), Henry Hiter (Gaylon) Robert Hiter (Lisa), Arthur Lee Davis Jr. (Stephanie) and Quinton Davis all of Louisa VA; Clarence Hiter of Philadelphia, Pa and her only daughter, Florence Paige (Frank) of Springdale, Md. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Dorothy Poindexter (Aubrey); brothers, George Brooks and Lenny Brooks of Louisa, VA; sister, Edith Byers (Clinton) of North Garden, VA; two sisters-in-law, Betsy Holland and Ernestine Hanncock; one brother in law, Deacon Ruby Davis Jr.(Marie); eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren
, three great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at First Baptist Church, 102 Meadows Ave, Louisa, VA with Rev. Roger E. Braxton, officiating. Interment will follow in the Eagle Baptist Church Cemetery.
