Steven Lewis Foster entered into eternal heavenly rest on Friday, May 10, 2024 at his residence. He was proceeded in death by his father, Winfred Lewis Foster.

He attended the Nelson County Public School Systems and graduated from Nelson County High School in 1985.

Steven accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Montreal Baptist Church. He was a member of the church Usher Board. Though not a member of Wake Forest Baptist Church, he was very active in supporting the church as a janitor, usher, landscaping and exercised his culinary skills on many occasions. He loved traveling throughout the country with his family. He was an avid Cowboys fan, enjoyed riding his motorcycles, taking rides in his Mustangs and attending car shows. And let's not forget his love for both playing and watching golf.

Steven loved supporting his daughters throughout their sports journey. Not only was he their biggest supporter and coach at times, but he put that same love and energy into mentoring others. His sense of humor could light up any room. He always made sure to keep his girls smiling and laughing even on the toughest of days.

Steven was a dedicated member of the postal service as well as making various friends and mentorship. He began his career as a city carrier in 1994 and later became supervisor in several locations before becoming Postmaster in Goochland and Farmville where his tenure was complete.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Tonya T. Foster, two daughters; Terra Foster and Stephanie Foster of Palmyra, VA, mother; Charlotte Foster of Arrington, VA, two sisters; Teresa Johnson (Clyde) of Monroe, VA and Michele Foster of Amherst, VA, dedicated mother-in-law; Joyce Tyler of Palmyra, VA, brother-in-law; Jerome Tyler of Columbia, VA, sister-in-law; Angie Whindleton (Dion) of Zion Crossroads, VA and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
