Steve Russell Timberlake entered into eternal rest Sunday, February 15, 2015. He was born August 1, 1959. He was preceded in death by his parents, Spencer & Sarah Elizabeth Banks Timberlake, his brother, Roderick Timberlake; a nephew, Randell Price and a brother-in-law, Larry Price.

Steve joined and was baptized at County Line Baptist Church at an early age. He later became a Watch Care member of Zion Travelers Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the ZTBC Men's Choir.

He attended Louisa County Public Schools. He attended barber school in Richmond, VA and thereafter barbered in Richmond, VA and Texas. In September 1986, he co-owned and operated the first black barber shop, Hair Unlimited, in Mineral, VA. In 1989, the shop was moved to Louisa where Steve worked until his health began to fail.

Steve had a charming personality and a quiet demeanor. He loved his family and friends. He also loved and collected antique cars, which he also raced from time to time.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted life partner of 29 years, Karen R. Grantham; six children, daughters, Shatawra Timberlake of Georgia, Shearease Timberlake of Georgia, Lyn Cousins-Greene of Richmond, VA, Ashley Grantham of Richmond, VA, Ariel Timberlake of Richmond, VA, and son Steve Adrian M. Timberlake of Louisa, VA; one step daughter, Alexis Saunders (Khalil) of Essex, MD; thirteen grandchildren; six sisters, Gladys B. Payne (Charles Edward) of Louisa, VA, Irene Price of Petersburg, VA, Maxine Johnson of Chesterfield, VA, Angela Timberlake of Hopewell, VA, Carolyn Mealy of Maryland and Wanda Newton (Donald) of Savannah, GA; three brothers, Harold Timberlake of Charlottesville, VA, Spencer Timberlake (Wanda) of Chesterfield, VA, and Leonard Timberlake (Kathy) of Louisa, VA; six aunts, Annette Hughes (Robert) of Louisa, VA, Pauline Payne (Johnnie) of Louisa, VA, Mary Alice Payne of Goochland, VA, Irene Morris of Louisa, VA, Leanna Morris of Louisa, VA and Gracie Price of Waynesboro, VA; three uncles, Melvin Timberlake (Louise) of Kents Store, VA, Wilbur Timberlake (Eleanor) of Louisa, VA, and Alfornzia Timberlake (Viola) of Louisa, VA and many loving nieces & nephews, other dear relatives and wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Zion Travelers Baptist Church, 3662 Roundabout Road, Louisa, VA with the Reverend Austin G. Bates, officiating.
