Stape Alexander Marshall, 91 of Bumpass, VA departed this life on September 23, 2011 at his residence. He was born on October 4, 1919 to the late Stape Crutchfield Marshall and Emma Minor Marshall.

He was educated in the Henrico County Public Schools.
He later married the former Areatha Waddy and to this union, four children were born. He was a member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church and attended until his health failed. Stape was an excellent cook and was employed as a chef for the U S Government for 60 years.

Stape was preceded in death by his parents, Stape and Emma Marshall and a daughter, Alma Gay Green. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Areatha Marshall; three sons, Stape A. Marshall, Jr. of Oxon Hill, MD and children, Stape A. Marshall, III, and Velynthia Marshall; Joseph L. Marshall (Barbara) and children, Mark Frederick, Brittany & Shaunta Marshall and Leroy F. (Veronica) and children, Mark Marshall & Alishia Murphy. He also leaves one daughter, Patricia A. Wilson Marshall and children, Anthony (3 children), DaNielle Wilson, Vicki Thomas (Bobby), Jearlean Marks and husband, Darryl (3 children) & Beaux Wilson and wife, Piyachap(2 children); children of Alma Gay Green (deceased): Michael L. Green and wife Denice (2 children), Brenda Yates and husband, Ricky, Carol Shelton (3 children), Wendy Kitchen (husband deceased) and 1 child and Pamela Ringer and husband Gregory (3 children).
