Shirley Yvonne Henson Mills, 60 departed life on November 11, 2016 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville Virginia. Shirley was born May 28, 1956 the daughter of the late Otis Sr. and Lydia Green Henson.

Shirley joined Rising Sun Baptist Church at an early age. She was preceded in death by two sisters Mildred Ann Green and Dorothy Mae Butler.

Shirley attended A.G. Richardson school and later graduated from Louisa County High School class of 1975. Shirley worked various jobs. Her last employment was Environmental Services of UVA in Charlottesville Virginia as an housekeeper. Shirley was a very hard worker and loved to work. She was an very outspoken person and friendly to all.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memories, two sisters Jennett (Michael) Brown and Mary (William) Jackson both of Mineral, Va. Four brothers Otis (Theresa) Henson Jr of Louisa, Va, Bruce Henson of Mineral VA, Melvin (Esther) Henson and Earl (Kimberly) Henson all of Chesterfield Va. One Aunt Dorothy Henson of Louisa Va. Two devoted nieces Nakia Johnson and Pattie Butler. Three devoted friends LaVerne Morgan , Louise and Nathan Aquillard and Doris Foster. A devoted neighbor Lorraine Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 at Rising Sun Baptist Church 6829 Fredericks Hall Road Mineral, VA 23117 with Rev. Frederick Sales officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Grove Memorial Cemetery.
