Serita Mae Singleton was born June 15, 1949 in Halifax County, Virginia, to the late Fred and Cecil Logan. She departed this earthly life on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Serita attended West End High School in Clarksville, VA. After graduating in 1967, Serita relocated to New York to reunite with her older siblings. Serita was employed by Verizon Communications of New York, where she worked and retired after 20 years of service. Serita met, and later married Arthur O' Neal Singleton Sr. on June 30, 1979, and they were married for 45 years until his death in July 2024. Their union was blessed with two children: Arthur Singleton Jr. and Michael Singleton. Serita was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Bronx, New York.

Serita's life can be best encapsulated by 4 words: Family, Friends, Food, and Fun. During her 76 years of life, she experienced an abundance of each. She cherished every moment with her family, and her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and her delicious home-cooked meals. Serita enjoyed baking and was well-known for her delicious cakes. In addition to her love of baking, she enjoyed working with children, traveling, interior design, fine crystal, and entertaining others. She also enjoyed a great party, and was known, along with her husband Arthur, for organizing travel events to a resort in the Catskill of New York, the Granit Hotel and
Country Club.

Serita was a woman of unwavering faith, and immense strength. Known for being a straight - shooter and giving her heartfelt advice whilst sipping on a cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee, she was charismatic, possessing a charm that made a person feel supported and appreciated even on their worst days. Serita was a true gem with a quick-wit and bold personality who appreciated all that life gave her. Even after losing her sight, she remained spirited and courageous in continuing to live a full life - while also being a passenger princess as Arthur Sr transported her to various states for fun and enjoyment.

Serita was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Singleton Sr., siblings Fred Logan, Adrean Logan, Henry Logan, Emma Dow, George Logan, and Grover Logan.

Serita is survived by her two sons, Arthur Singleton Jr. of Miami, FL and Michael Singleton (Marissa) of Centereach, NY, her grandchildren Hunter and Sky; her siblings, Gertrude Freeman and Anne Johnson, both of Bronx, NY, Deborah Stewart (Matt), both of Louisa, VA, and Martha Logan-Biggs (Venor) of Woodbridge, VA; her sister-in-laws, Carol Logan of Williamsburg, VA, Yvette Capita of Hampton, GA, Silva Mae Logan of Annapolis, MD; her dear aunt Adelle Tyree (Russell) of Patterson, NJ; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

To the Singleton family, we at D. D. Watson offer our most sincere sympathy and condolences. Our prayer continues to be that your abiding faith in God will lend to you a measure of comfort that will strengthen and sustain you during your time of sorrow.
