God's Angels stopped by on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 to let his Angel, Sarah Elizabeth Brooks Sledge age 88, know her work here on earth was done.

She was born on March 13, 1920, in Louisa County to the late Frank and Mable Brooks.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.

Sarah was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, but also attended Philippi Christian Church. She attended the public schools of Louisa County. Sarah worked for the Marriott Corporation in Arlington, VA and retired from there after 34 years of service.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two sisters, Rev. Mamie Green (Rev. James Green) and Virginia L. Jones of Mineral, VA; two sisters in law, Patience Lofton (David) of Mineral, VA and Juanita Brooks of Maryland; a special Godchild, Shirley V. Boyd of Mineral, VA; four grandchildren, Reginald Williams (Tanya) of Richmond, VA, Lynn Brooks, Felix Brooks, III (Patricia) of Mineral, VA and Lawrence Brooks (Danika) of Newport News, VA; one devoted niece, Cathy Chambers (John) of Mineral, VA; a devoted friend, Rickey Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Philippi Christian Church, Jefferson Highway, Mineral, VA with the Rev. Temple Anderson, officiating. Interment will follow in the Brooks Family Cemetery, Mineral, VA.
