Sadie Harris Johnson, 91, was born on October 14, 1932, in Louisa, Virginia, to the late Monroe and Helen Harris. She went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 1, 2024, at her Mineral residence, surrounded by her family.

Sadie was educated in the Louisa County Public School System. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, was baptized, and joined the Philippi Christian Church, in Mineral, Virginia. As an active member, Sadie served the church in many capacities, including Church Clerk, member of the Adult Choir, member of the Missionary Society, and attending Sunday School. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, Sadie is predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, the late Frank Johnson; four sisters, Louise Burnley, Laura Evans, Betty Nelson, and Florence Pace; and two brothers, William Harris, and Jerry Taylor.

Sadie worked for many local families throughout the county including Dr. Robert Wash and Family, Judge Harkrader and Family, and the Reed, Clark, and McDonald Families.  All of her families became her family and she remained close to them over the years.

A loving and caring person, who was affectionally acknowledged by her immediate family as 'Nana', Sadie was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted son, Frank A. Johnson and his wife Kecia; two grandchildren, Teidra Johnson and Cordarryl Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Emoni Bishop and Corrina Johnson; a sister, Helen Jones of Washington, DC; a devoted great-nephew/caregiver, John Burnley; a devoted niece, Betty Nelson; a sister-in-law, Shirley Johnson; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, to include two beautiful caregivers, Connie Reid and Darlene Morris.
