On Monday, January 6, 2025, Russell "Ducky" Lee Jr . peacefully entered eternal rest at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. He was born on June 1, 1953, to the late Elnora and Russell Lee Sr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Jones and J. Carroll Lee; three sisters, Shirley Wynn, Joyce Lee, and Gloria Washington; and his nephew/best friend, Tony Lee Sr.
Russell received his education in the Louisa County Public School system, graduating from A.G. Richardson High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Later, he met and married Eartha Johnson, and their union was blessed with two daughters and one son.
For over 20 years, Russell worked diligently for the town of Gordonsville until retiring due to a car accident. Known for his quiet and humble nature, Russell had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family and friends. His kindness and generosity touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Russell leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Tonya Lee of Caroline County, VA, and Trinica Lee (Linwood Payne) of Gordonsville, VA; one son, Shawn Johnson (Gertrude) of Washington, DC; one granddaughter, Chalyn; and five grandsons, Ryan, Shawn, Chase, Miguel, and Jaycen. He also leaves behind a loving and devoted friend, Janice Banks. He is survived by six sisters: Mary Seaberry (James), Irma Christmas (Andrew), Deborah Robinson, Terry Lee, and Sheila Lee, all of Louisa, VA, and Elnora Grooms (Melvin) of Charlottesville, VA; one brother, Robert Lee (Florence) of Buckingham, VA; five sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
