A Time To Be Born- Deacon Ruby Davis Jr ., 81, of Louisa, Virginia, entered this world on February 9, 1943. He was born to the late Ruby Sr. and Claudia Morris Davis.
A Time To Learn- He was a distinguished and proud graduate of the esteemed A.G. Richardson High School, Class of 1961, an accomplishment he held in high regard throughout his life. His dedication to his alma mater remained unwavering as he continued to support and engage with his classmates long after graduation.
A Time To Work- Ruby worked at the McDonald's Pallet Plant in Louisa, VA, for 20 years. Following this, he devoted 25 years of diligent service to the North Anna Power Station in Mineral, VA. After this remarkable career, he embarked on a well-deserved retirement.
A Time To Love- Ruby married his sweetheart, Marie Louise Hunter Davis. They were married for 50 years until her passing in 2015. To this union, two sons were born.
A Time To Serve- Ruby was baptized and became a member of Eagle Baptist Church at an early age. He faithfully served as an ordained deacon until his health began to decline. Additionally, his harmonious voice blessed the choir with heartfelt songs of devotion and praise.
A Time To Laugh- Ruby cherished moments spent with loved ones, finding joy in their company. He found delight in traveling to new places, singing with passion, and eagerly attending his class reunions. He relished the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and create new memories together. Ruby had a way with words and loved to laugh, bringing joy to those around him with his humor.
A Time To Die- Ruby quietly and peacefully slipped into an eternal rest on Monday, April 15th, 2024, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by love. In addition to his parents and wife, Ruby was preceded in death by his brothers James Davis, Henry Jackson, and Earnest Davis; Sisters Mary Lee Davis, Joyce Lee, Bessie Holland, Ernestine Hancock-Gist, and Alice Robinson.
A Time To Remember- He is survived by his two sons, Carlton Davis of Louisa, VA, and Tony Davis of Los Angeles, CA one granddaughter, Shelby Davis of Chicago, IL; and great-grandson, Jayelin Davis; and his faithful and loyal companion, Louie. He is also survived by his brother, Arthur Davis of Louisa, VA, and sister-in-law, Fannie Shelton; Four brothers-in-law, Howard Hunter, Thomas Hunter (Rosetta), Bishop Linwood Sawyer (Lolita), William Robinson, and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
