Rosa Virginia Waddy, 57, of Bumpass,VA quietly slipped away during the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Henrico Doctors' Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. To many she was affectionately known as "Ginia".
Rosa was born on April 16, 1954 in Louisa County, Virginia, as the only child to Ms. Annie Waddy.
She attended the Public Schools of Louisa County. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior, when she joined Mt. Garland Baptist Church. In recent years, she became a very dedicated member and a faithful reader of the Bible.
Rosa leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Annie Waddy of Bumpass, Virginia; her daughter, Rebecca Alston and son-in-law, Samuel Alston, Jr. of Stone Mountain, Georgia and a host of relatives and friends. Rosa's son, Sylvester Waddy, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Mt. Garland Baptist Church, 4000 Buckner Road, Bumpass,VA 23024 with the Rev. Dr. Charles Haden, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
