On Saturday, March 19, 2016, Rosa Bell(Ann)Dawson left peacefully to be with the Lord. Rosa was born in Louisa, Virginia, on June 22, 1942, to Annie Elizabeth King and the late Matthew James King, Sr. She was the fourth of nine children. Her siblings, Wilson, Matthew Jr., and Bessie preceded her in death. At an early chosen age by the Lord, Rosa accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and joined Thessalonia Baptist Church in Mineral, Virginia. Rosa received her education through Louisa County Public Schools. She later applied that education in obtaining employment at Louisa Manufactory, Morton's Frozen Food, Golden Skillet, and Klockner Pentaplast. In 1957 Rosa joined in holy matrimony to George Lee Poindexter, who also preceded her in death. From that union came five children. Rosa remarried in 2006, to Edgar W. Dawson. Rosa was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a dear friend to many others. Rosa loved the Lord and her family; they all were the joy of her life. Rosa will be remembered by her outgoing spirit, personality and the love she touched us all with. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Edgar Dawson and children, Deborah, Barbara, George Jr, Malcolm, and Melissa; her mother, Annie King; three brothers, George, Charles, and James; two sisters, Lillian and Jeannie; 19 grandchildren, Wendy, Japel, Joshua, and Quashawna being her oldest; 15 great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Howard Thompson and Michael Moss; three sisters-in-law, Mary, Verneilia, and Kriss; three sons-in-law, Charles, Juan and Stephen; two daughters-in-law, Venus and Ann, along with a host of nephews, nieces, and many friends.
