Ronnette Jean Morris Alston , 54 years old, peacefully passed away at 11:48 pm., Friday, July 5, 2024, at the University of Virginia Hospital,
Charlottesville, Virginia. Ronnette was born May 18, 1970, at the University of Virginia Hospital to Cynthia R. Morris.

She joined the Wayland Baptist Church, Trevilians, Virginia at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Dr. George W. Mclaughlin. During her time at Wayland Baptist Church, she sang in the youth choir, and participated in Sunday School, and other youth activities. Later she moved her membership to First Baptist Church, Louisa, Virginia under the guidance of Rev. Thomas Wooden, Jr. After moving to Petersburg, Virginia, she joined the Tabernacle Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Robert A. Diggs, Sr.

Ronnette was educated in the Louisa County Public School System. She graduated from Louisa County High School in June of 1988. Ronnette was also a member of the Louisa County Marching Band and the Concert Band. After graduating from high school, she did some college work at Norfolk State College, Norfolk, Virginia, Virginia State College, Petersburg, Virginia, and Piedmont Community College, Charlottesville, Virginia.

Ronnette was the apple of her grandparents' eye, the late Deacon Jesse J. Morris and the late Florence B. Lewis Cowherd Morris. She was also predeceased by her uncle, Specialist 4 Ronald L. Morris.

She is survived by her children, Phillip S. Alston, II and Garry L. White, Jr. both of Petersburg; her mother, Cynthia R. Morris, of Petersburg; aunts, Florence B. Reece and Jean Price Morris, both of Louisa and Ernestine Cowherd Burns of Charlottesville; uncle, Phillip Reece of Louisa; and a host of cousins and friends.

A public viewing will be held from 4 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, August 9, 2024, in The Sun Chapel at D. D. Watson, Louisa.

The Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 am in The Sun Chapel.

A private burial will follow at Wayland Baptist Church Cemetery, Trevilians, Virginia.

In Lieu of flowers or tree planting, please donate to the American Kidney Foundation in Ronnette's name.
