Ronald Lee Houchens, Sr., 60, of Mineral, Virginia., departed this life on Monday, March 10, 2008 at his resident. He was born August 2, 1947 to the late James and Bertha Houchens. A sister Bertha Shelton, also preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 37 years, Carolyn Houchens; two devoted children, Sharon and Ronald, Jr.; a devoted sister, Emma Jackson(Charles), three devoted brothers Richard(Alice), Sylvester and Stewart, all of Mineral; a devoted daughter-in-law, Davina Houchens of Louisa; three grandchildren, Jasmine, Jemell and Trey; one brother-in-law, Raymond Shelton; a mother-in-law, Mary Waller(David); fourteen aunts, eleven uncles, one great aunt, one devoted uncle, Samuel Jackson; two devoted friends, Cooper Timberlake and Carrie Yancey; a loving and supportive pastor and his wife, Thomas and Nancy Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Tried Way of the Cross Church 9367 Fredericks Hall Road Mineral, Virginia 23117, with Rev. Thomas Johnson officiating interment will follow in the Houchens Family Cemetery.
