Rochelle "Roro" Bridget Moore, was called home peacefully at the University of Virginia Medical Center on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in Charlottesville, VA. She was 53 years old.
Rochelle was born on September 16, 1961 in Brooklyn, New York to her parents, Virginia and the late Willie Garvin. She graduated from Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn, NY. Shortly after, Rochelle attended Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA where she studied Social Work. It was then where she met her college sweetheart, Erwin P. Harris, Sr. of Waverly, VA. For a short time, she worked as a Patient Care Assistant for the New York City Department of Health.
She enjoyed going on vacations and spending quality time with family and friends. She was very intelligent and spiritually well rounded. Everyone Rochelle came in contact with would remember her as being a loving, genuine and bubbly woman.
Rochelle is survived by her daughter, Kenya Bridget Harris of Brooklyn, New York; her sons, Erwin P. Harris Jr. of Richmond, Virginia and Tahjir R. Harris of Louisa, Virginia; devoted and caring partner, John Wheeler; mother, Virginia Garvin; aunt, Barbara Henson; her sisters, Valerie Cosby, Colette Mull and Ruby Guzman; daughter-in-law, Brittany Green; two beloved grandchildren, Jailaa Lowman and Elijah Harris; devoted family member, Evette Pruitt and family friend, Adonica Edwards; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Rochelle will be joining her father, Willie Garvin; husband, James Kelly Moore and brother, Dk'Qwan Garvin, Sr. in eternal peace.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Thomasson Watson Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
