Deacon Robert Willis Quarles, Jr., 96 of Gordonsville, Virginia departed this life on Friday, March 23, 2007 at his residence. The eldest son of the late Robert W. and Betteen Smith Quarles. Robert was a retired employee of C & O Railroad, an Army Veteran of World War II, he also severed on the Deacon Ministers and Layman Union at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, he was a former member of the local Masonic Lodge. He is survived by two sisters Madeline Maddox of Bronx, NY and Bernice E. Quarles of Gordonsville, Virginia., six nieces, three nephews and a host of cousins other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held a 1 PM Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church Lindsay Road Gordonsville, Virginia., with the Reverend Dr. George W. McLaughlin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
