Robert Lee Holland peacefully departed this life on April 16, 2014. He was born January 20, 1929 in Louisa County, Virginia. Robert served his country in the U. S. Army. He married the love of his life, Bessie Overton on January 29, 1955. To the union, four children were born.

Robert loved to work on cars, tell jokes and eating good home cooking. He was preceded in death by his sons, Lonnie Lee Holland and Gregory Donnelle Holland; one sister and five brothers.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife of 59 years, Bessie E. Holland; two daughters, Sonia E. Holland of Laurel, Maryland and Deidra E. Holland of Midlothian, VA; two God daughters, Joyce Ross of Charlottesville and LaMonica Harris of Midlothian; three sisters, Barbara Clark, Marion Scott and Yvonne Athey; grandson, Darren Hopkins of Laurel, Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord".

Our beloved is now rejoicing with the Lord and all of his family that made that spiritual journey   before him.
