Richard Henry Thomas received his Heavenly Wings and took flight to glory on September 2, 2021.

Richard, nicknamed "Pudney" was born December 14,1927, in Hanover, Virginia, to the late Cora Thaniel Thomas and Richard Lee Thomas. He was preceded in death by his siblings, William Thomas, Charles "Buck Lee" Thomas, Victoria Thomas, Gladys "Tete" Horton, and Linda Johnson.

Richard married former wife, Evelyn Wilson (deceased), and from that union they had Cathy Jones and Pamela Vernado (Atlanta, GA), Edith Walls (Williamsburg Va.), and Yvonne Latko("Polly") (Pittsburg, PA).  "Pudney" also had several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

During Richard's early teen years, he worked several local farm jobs in the Bumpass-Beaverdam area. After leaving the area he was employed by the county of Arlington, Va as an environmental waste disposal technician, and worked several years for the Washington Gas Light Company as a laborer, where he was injured on the job. After his injury, he worked at Arlington Hospital as a janitorial aide.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted nieces, Cora Woodford (Robert) and Phyllis Johnson; beloved nephew, James Thomas; beloved close friend and caretaker, Cecil Nelson (Pat), and his devoted cousin, Joseph Giles along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He also leaves to mourn… the excellent Nursing Staff at Falls Run Nursing and Rehab, where he was affectionally known as "Pops".

Later in life, he joined the Potomac Valley Church of Christ where he gave his life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
