Ramona Dell (Harris) Poindexter (63), entered in eternal rest to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 4, 2020. She died peacefully at Martha Jefferson Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Ramona was born on July 21,1957.  She is proceeded in death by her parents, the late Lawrence Harris. and Mary Dell Brice Harris, a brother Lawrence "Aka "Bobby" Harris jr., a niece, Cecilia Harris, all from Kents Store, Virginia, and a brother Jerry Harris of Goochland, Virginia.

Ramona affectionately known as "Sister or Mona" joined the Byrd Grove Baptist Church, Kents Store, Virginia at an early age. She remained a member of Byrd Grove until her body became frail by illnesses she battled for several years. She was a quiet, kind-hearted, loveable person. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed planning summer excursions to various vacation places. She was a great organizer and coordinated all the trips for the entire family to enjoy.

Ramona graduated in 1975, from Carysbrook High School in Fork Union, Virginia. After graduation, she was employed by the Carysbrook Library. She was employed many years with LexisNexis, (Aka Michie Company and other alias names as Lexis Law Publishing, Lexis Publishing), and the UVA Brown Science Engineering Library. All employers were in Charlottesville, Virginia. Due to her health complications she was forced to take early disability.

Ramona leaves to cherish precious memories a husband, Mack Poindexter; one daughter, Nicole Poindexter; three grandchildren, Zio nn Poindexter, Zaire Cabell and Zayden Poindexter; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry "Aka Bubbi e" (Christine) Harris, Bremo Bluff, Virginia; a sister-in-law, Irmay Harris, Goochland, Virginia; two sisters, Carolyn Harris, Louisa, Virginia, Marilyn (Larry) Green, Louisa, Virginia; 19 Nieces, 19 Nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews, 14 great-great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, October 9, 2020, at The Sun Chapel at D.D. Watson, Louisa, Virginia. Min.Teresa Baskfield will be officiating the service and Pastor Rueben Lewis will be the Eulogist.

The Interment will follow at the Byrd Grove Baptist Church,  Kents Store, Virginia immediately following the service. There will not be repast.
