Phyllis Darlene Grooms, 69, of Louisa, Virginia, entered eternal rest on Monday, November 13, 2023. She was born on January 23,1954 in Birmingham, Al. She was preceded in death by; her life partner William Brodus Grooms, one son Daryl Clay and one bonus son Samuel William Grooms (Sammie) and a bonus daughter Carolyn Grooms (Beana).
She was educated in the Louisa County Public Schools and was employed for many years at the Virginia Industries for the Blind until her illness prevented her from working. She was baptized in her thirties at the Evergreen Bible Way Church by the late, Pastor Joseph W. Grooms where she was a member.
Phyllis loved to cook and spend time with her family. She would be found talking on the phone and catching up on the latest gossip with her neighbors. Reminiscing about the "good old days" was her greatest joy.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Gail Howard (Harry)of Louisa, Va Katina Mills of Louisa, and Theresa Johnson (Sean) of Gordonsville, Va and Three bonus daughters Connie Henson (Melvin) of Louisa, Va, Theresa Burgess, Fannie Grooms and one bonus son, Anthony Grooms all of Charlottesville, VA; three granddaughters Lashaun Johnson (Jerry) of Richmond, Va Jade Grooms of Gordonsville, Va Taylor Mills of Louisa, Va and three Grandsons Mitrelle Howard(Free) Louisa, Va, Harry Howard Jr(Iman) of New Orleans Louisiana, Markwin Howard (Mica) of Charlottesville, Va; three great granddaughters Kennedy, Karter and Kassadi of Gordonsville, VA; two bonus grandsons Elder Roger Burgess (Yolonda) of Louisa, Va and Mcquine Grooms of Fluvanna, Va and one beloved bonus granddaughter Sanitha Grooms. One best friend the late Betty Dickerson. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and friends. Phyllis will forever be remembered as a real "momma bear" when it came to her children and a "sassy woman" who held no cut cards. Her memory will forever be cherished her hearts.
