Philmore Vernon Gooch, Jr., 55, Louisa, VA., departed this life on May 2, 2010 at his residence. He was born on November 11, 1954, the son of the late Philmore Vernon Gooch, Sr. and Jane Louise Gooch.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki H. Gooch; one son, Matthew Jason Holland; one grandson, Isaiah Matthew Holland; one brother, Harold Matthew Gooch and wife Roxie; mother-in-law, Parthenia Holland; one sister-in-law ,Wendy Morris; five brothers-in-law, Rev. Ray McKenzie and wife Faith, Alan McKenzie and wife Barbara, Anthony Holland and wife Sarah, Darryl Holland and George Holland, Jr. He is also survived by two great aunts, Julia Ellis of Orange, VA and Mary Cage of Washington, DC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at
1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at First Baptist Church, 102 Meadows Ave, Louisa, VA 23093, with the Rev. Ray McKenzie officiating. Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery, 1546 Vawter Corner Road, Louisa.
