In the early hours of the afternoon of Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, Virginia, God dispatched His angel from heaven and gently took the hand of our dearly beloved one- our mother, a grandmother, a sister, an aunt, a cousin and a true friend- Pearline "Sue" Elizabeth Henson.
Pearline, "Sue," the daughter of the late Dorothy Henson and Robert Johnson, was born on May 28, 1946. She was the twin sister of Pauline "Sally" Henson. Her brother, Charles, preceded her in death, as well as three aunts, four uncles, and grandparents (Maternal- Moten B. and Rosa G. Henson; Paternal- Ernest and Alice Johnson).
"Sue" accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at age 12 in August of 1958. She was baptized and joined the Rising Sun Baptist Church family under the pastoral leadership of the late Reverend John L. Tyler. She was a faithful member of Rising Sun, who sang on the Senior Choir and served in the Missionary Ministry.
She received her education from the Louisa County Public
Schools, (Starting at Rising Sun Elementary School, to Z.C. Morton and then to A.G. Richardson). In the early years of the 60s, she worked for the Rockingham Sleepwear Factory in Mineral. She was a daytime Child Caregiver for the community- serving over 25 kids for different families in the neighborhood. Her notable hobbies were reading and listening to good gospel music. She was an avid puzzle solver, even at the most challenging level. (A Sweet Spirited Individual). Loved to travel until her health began to fail (12 year dialysis patient survivor who never complained about her condition).
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Thomas Michael "Mike", Calvin Jerome "Ronny"; one granddaughter, Morgan; one devoted and loving twin sister, Pauline Maxine ("Sally"); one devoted and loving brother, Thomas Henry ("Pie"); one devoted aunt, Mattie Henson; one devoted uncle, Lawrence Henson (Alice); nieces, Linda Houchens, Shelia Houchens, Arlene Houchens- an extended niece, Alfreda Morris- an extended niece and Doris Henson; two devoted great-nieces, Cierra Henson and Nia Henson; nephews, Gerald Henson-devoted, Charles Henson, Lance Houchens and Jerry Houchens- an extended nephew; devoted cousins, Gladys Anderson, Grace A.
