Reverend Patricia Jordan Whindleton peacefully entered eternal rest at her home on Sunday, January 12, 2020.  She was born February 18, 1946 in Esmont, Virginia and was the youngest of twelve children born to the late Deacon General Washington Jordan and Reverend Rebecca Monroe Jordan.  She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Stanley, Monroe, Bristol, Herman, Charles, James, and Churchill; two sisters, Martha Jordan Young and Mary Jordan Evans Terrell; and one loving grandchild, Taliah Tache' Whindleton.

Reverend Whindleton accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized and became a member of New Green Mountain Baptist Church where she served as an usher, choir member and Sunday School Officer.  She later transferred her membership to South Garden Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher, choir member, President of the Missionary Ministry, and Associate Minister.

In an effort to strengthen her ministry, she attended Virginia University of Lynchburg and received a Certificate of Ministry (May 1996), a Bachelor of Religious Education (May 1999), and a Master of Religious Studies (May 2000).  On July 15, 2000, she was called to pastor Middle Oak Baptist Church where she served for thirteen years.

She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband of 56 years, Floyd Whindleton, Sr.; two sons, Floyd Whindleton, Jr. (Pamela) of North Garden, Virginia and Dion Whindleton (Angela) of Zion Crossroads, Virginia; two daughters, Doris Whindleton of Durham, North Carolina and Adriane Butler of Zion Crossroads, Virginia; five grandchildren, Diondra Whindleton, Thomas Butler, III, Aleecia Whindleton, KaTia Whindleton and Mya Butler; one brother, Silas Jordan (Geneva) of Forestville, Maryland; one sister, Dorothy Harris of Esmont, Virginia; one brother-in-law, James Whindleton; four sister-in-laws, Betty Jordan, Julia Jordan, Ruth Jordan and Jean Alexander, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

NO PUBLIC VIEWING.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2020 at Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church 105 Lankford Avenue Charlottesville, Virginia 22903. Interment will follow in the South Garden Baptist Church Cemetery 3562 Plank Road North Garden, Virginia 22959.
