Nora D. Talley entered into eternal rest on August 14, 2022 at Louisa Health and Rehabilitation Center, Louisa. She was born September 1, 1926 to the late Rev. Wilson Desper and Josephine Gooch Desper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Talley Sr.; son, James E. Talley Jr.; brothers, Rev. John H. Desper, Sterlin, Raymond and Cleveland; sisters, Mary Rollins, Lena Smith and Pearl Burruss.
Nora accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age, then was baptized and joined First Baptist Church, Louisa.
Nora spent most of her working years providing child care and domestic services for many families around Louisa County. Nora took much pride in her work, always giving her best.
Nora loved being a housewife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She always cherished the times spent with her family and friends. She loved family gatherings and preparing home cooked meals. Until her health failed, Nora loved traveling to Maryland and spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. Nora also looked forward to visits from her son and other family and friends at the Health Care Center.
Nora leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Mae Wright (Mack) of Maryland; son, Michael Wayne Talley of Fluvanna; grandchildren; Larry King (Renata), Melvin King (Marietta), Cecelia Davin (Lorenzo) , Denise Wright, Seab Wright Jr. (Hazette), Alfred Bennett III, Dometrian Talley and Partick Talley ( Brittany); 15 great-grandchildren, 32 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild, one sister, Ada Hopewell of Goochland and a host of other relatives and friends.
