Nevada Cora Davis passed away peacefully at her home in Mineral, Virginia on Monday January 8, 2018 at 5:30pm. She was one of six children born to late Curtis C. Johnson and Sylvester Johnson.

Nevada Davis was born April 7, 1936 in Mineral, Virginia. She received her education at Louisa County Training School.  At an early age, Nevada Davis joined Laurel Hill Baptist Church. Nevada was a hard worker and a devoted Mother. She worked at Louisa Manufacturers for 20 years until closure of that business and retired from Dominion Virginia Power. Her favorite pastime was playing bingo, completing puzzles, shopping and cooking.

Nevada was married to late Bennie Davis. She was proceeded in death by her 3 sisters, Estelle, Esther, and Alice; 3 sisters-in-law, Belulah Mae, Florence and Teddie; 3 brothers, Junior, McKinley and Reginald; brothers-in-law, Walter, Jamie, Raymond, Edison, Mack, Emmit, Jr., P.C. and Wayman and her Grandson, Draone.

Treasured memories will remain with her 4 children, Darlene Davis, Belinda Johnson, Tawanda Jackson (William) and Kenny Davis (Stacey); grandchildren, Sheta (Vincent), Demont (Sherry), Teddy (Janice), Keyon (Sheronda),  Shawanda (Miles), Dontavious, Quantel and Donvonta; 22 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; sisters-in-law, Candida Johnson, Gail, Alice (Jesse), Elise (Waverly), Cassandra (Robert), Jerome (Bernita), Shirley (P.C.), and Gwendolyn (Raymond); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Laurel Hill Baptist Church, 7652 Kentucky Spring Road, Mineral, VA 23117 with Rev. Barry Carpenter, officiating. Interment will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery.
