Nelson Leroy Robinson affectionately known as "Tuna Fish," was born in Louisa, Virginia on August 18, 1958 to Melvin and Nora Robinson. He is the second son of four children born to this union. On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, Nelson was peacefully called home to his eternal rest. He has gone on to join his brother, Melvin Hubbert Robinson, Jr. in glory.
Nelson was educated in the Louisa County school system, where he was a proud graduate of Louisa County High School Class of 1976. After high school, Nelson had various jobs, but he adored working alongside his dad in his logging business for over 30 years.
In his spare time, Nelson loved fishing, dancing and basically clowning around. He also had a love for fast cars and his many cats. Nelson was known to be caring, peaceful, and fun-loving with an infectious smile. He was also competitive and would not mind throwing in a little trash talk especially when it came to his beloved Dallas Cowboys.
Nelson grew up in and was a member of County Line Baptist Church. In addition to spending time at his home church, he enjoyed attending services at Divine Baptist Church.
Above anything else, Nelson was an amazing and devoted husband, son, brother, father, grandfather and friend. Those who will cherish his memory are his parents, Melvin & Nora; his wife, June; his children, Dewayne Payne, Nelson Maurice Robinson (Candice), Kevin Robinson, Richard Quarles, Jr. and Richetta Carter; sisters, Melvina Bass (Richard) and Wanda Hopson (Derick); granddaughters, Simone Robinson and London Quarles; nephew, Robert C, Bass; uncles, Matt Smith, Meredith Smith (Sarah), Lurry Smith, Albert Robinson and aunts, Ada Whitley (Warren) and Jordina Chandler. He is also survived by six sisters-in-law, and five brothers-in-law.
His legacy will be celebrated by a host of devoted family and friends, especially the 605 Crew, Langston Quarles, Lewis Harris, Derek Harris and Al Hall -- his card playing and hangout buddies.
