Myrtle Timberlake Price slipped quickly into eternal rest on Monday, August 4th at the Martha
Jefferson Hospital.
She was born April 24, 1916, in Louisa County to the late Emmitt and Ada Timberlake. All of
her siblings preceded her in death. Now the family circle is complete.
Myrtle was united in holy matrimony to the late Temple Price. To this union they were blessed
with three children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Temple and by a son, Francis.
She joined and was baptized at County Line Baptist Church at an early age. She was a faithful
member until her health failed. She was one of the first members that organized the Senior choir
in 1942 and sang until 1992. Myrtle was honored in an Appreciation service in 1993.
The precious memories of "Granny" will always linger in her survivors. She is survived by a
daughter, Annie P. Johnson (Jimmie) of Kents Store; one son, George W. Price (Connie) of
Henrico and a devoted niece, Eleanor Barrett (Rayford) of Goochland; daughter-in-law, Leathrice
Price; six grandchildren: Percy Johnson ( Denise), Vanessa Scott (Zachary), June Athy (Calvin),
Darla Price-Taylor (Vonzell), Raquel White (Sean) and Ryan Price; five great-grandchildren:
Kendra Ellis (Jamar), Darris Johnson, Aysha Scott, Aaron Athy and Gavin White; two
brothers-in-law: John Brown and Theodore Price; two sisters-in-law: Fannie Timberlake and
Annie P. Price and a host of relatives and friends.
Myrtle was a "Granny" to many and loved by all. She loved to cook, sing, and participate in
"girl" talk.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on August 9, 2008 at County Line Baptist Church, Kents Store, Virginia with the Reverend Walter H. Jones, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
