Moses E. White was born on June 19, 1943, to the late Chester A. and Viola Steppe-White. He received his angel wings on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. He was raised in Albemarle County and later found his home in Louisa County, VA.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Carol Steppe, Matthew, Wayne, and Philogene White; a sister, Emma Steppe and a grandson, Xavier Elijah White.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Nellie White; son, Alphonso White (Teresa); daughter, Teresa Harris; grandchildren, Alyssa White, Tyler Harris, Porsha Thurston; great-grandchild, Ariah Carter; two brothers, Roy White (Pat) and Richard White (Linda); two sisters, Laverne Durrette and Jane White, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Moses was employed by Great Coastal as a truck driver for over 30 years before retirement. Shortly after retirement, Moses started his Mineral Backhoe business. Moses also served in the United States Army. Moses was a loving and wholehearted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was a jack of all trades. He would always lend a helping hand. If you needed him, all you had to do was stop by "the shop" anytime, any day. Moses was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
