Minnie Vera Henson Webster was called home to rest in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, January 3, 2009. She was the daughter of the late David and Vesthi Henson, as well as the daughter of Harry and Fannie Payne, who raised her from a very young child.
She was married to the late Thomas Webster. In addition to her parents and husband, Minnie was preceded in death by her loving and devoted son, Ernest G. Webster and two brothers, Archie and David Henson.
Minnie was a very patient and loving and devoted mother, grandmother and a true friend to all who knew her and was a foster mother to many children.
She was an avid gardner of flowers, vegetables, fruits and just about anything that she could grow. She enjoyed sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends.
As a very young child, she was baptized at Foster Creek Baptist Church and was educated in Louisa County. She moved to Washington, DC and received her Cosmetology License.
Minnie is survived by two loving children, daughter, Diane M. Webster of Hanover County, VA, a son, Dominic A. Webster of Chesterfield, VA; three very special and dear grandchildren: a granddaughter, Yanikia V. Webster of Mechanicsville, VA and grandsons, Ernest G. Webster of Richmond, VA, and Xavier Webster of Amelia, VA.; her siblings, Elnora and husband,Columbus Vines of Louisa, VA, Bessie Hackney of Roanoke, VA, William and wife, Anna of Colorado Springs, CO, and David and friend, Leslie of Roanoke, VA. She is also survived by many cousins and friends and other extended family members. Her memories will also be cherished by a devoted cousin who was more like a son, William "Bugg" and wife, Cynthia Henson of Louisa, VA,who loved and cared for her over a period of numerous years.. .
Though Minnie is gone from our presence and we are not able to touch and see her; she will forever remain in our hearts.
The funeral will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Jaunary 9, 2009 at Thomasson Watson Chapel. The interment will be in the Henson Family Cemetery with Rev. John Marshall officiating.
