Mildred Johnson Braxton was born on June 27, 1939, in Orange, Virginia, to the late Anne Johnson. She departed this life on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Suburban Hospital, Bethesda, Md.

Mildred , better known as (Lubby), was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Lubby was reared in Orange, Virginia, and she attend George Washington Carver High School.

Lubby was employed professionally as social worker for the city of Alexandria, Virginia, where she retired after 30 years.

Lubby enjoyed spending quality time with her family, whether it was shopping, eating at her favorite restaurants (I Hop or Golden Coral),
watching game show network, or playing board games. You could meet up with her at the senior center in Fort Washington. She would worship with her daughter, Karen, at the Andrews Airforce Base.

Lubby was preceded in death by her daughter, Rika Braxton; one Mable Easton; three brothers, William (Turkey) Johnson, Robert Johnson, and James Weldon Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Karen, Lele (William), Jennifer (Kris) and Eric (Cornelia). Five grandchildren: Jordashe, Cory, Alicia, Donte' and Khaliyah; four great�grandchildren: Tavon, Tashayla, Cory, Jr. and Chance; Two siblings, Barbara (Noonie) Johnson and Dorothy (Mumma) Johnson; a special daughter, Shirley Butler; two special nieces, Lori (Lola) Johnson Brown and Sharon Johnson; two special cousins, Ann Churchman and Paulette Adamson; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends
