Michal Jon Engrum, 53, of Louisa, VA, passed from this life on Saturday, March 5, 2022.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rachelle Engrum and son, Nathaniel Engrum of Louisa, VA; seven sisters; Verlyn Jones of Newllano, LA, Reda Coleman (Melvin) of  Newllano, LA, Myra Engrum of Baton Rouge, LA,, Dersel Green (Edwin) of Fort Worth, TX, Lisa Crosley (John) of DeRidder, LA, Jennifer Simmons of DeRidder, LA, and Stephanie Freeman (Philip) of Arlington, TX;  three  brothers, Jarvis Engrum (Sandra) of Burien, WA, Calvin Engrum, III (Robin) of DeRidder, LA, and Jeffrey Engrum (Pauline) of Laurel, MD; and a host of relatives, classmates, friends and co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Engrum Jr., and Dorothy Engrum; and sister, Cynthia St. Romain.

Michal was born in DeRidder, LA.  He was baptized at an early age at Sweet Home Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Elbert Cooksey.,

He was educated in his elementary school years at DeRidder Elementary and High Schools. He graduated from DeRidder

High School with his beloved class of 1998. He was quite the athlete and excelled in track, football and basketball. He was interviewed by the local newspaper for being able to perform the Hi Jump inches taller than he was. He also graduated from ULL, formerly known as USL in Lafayette, LA. He worked many years as a successful Architect for the Core of Engineers, Air force. He retired after 20 years in the Army Reserve,

Michal leaves a legacy of quietness, meekness and had an overall concern for others. He was very intelligent, humble, witty and had a great sense of humor. He also had a serious nature but was quite the Chef, especially when it came to Bar-B-Qing.
