Michael Bruce Hopson Sr., 45 of Louisa Virginia died
Wednesday, August 1 2007 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville Va.
Mike was employed with the Virginia Department of Corrections at Coffeewood Correctional Center, Culpeper Va. and also worked for the Carroll County Sheriff's Office. Mike spent his entire career in Law Enforcement and as a Correctional Officer. He was a dedicated employee who took pride in his work and the training of new officers. He loved children, and enjoyed all aspects of the outdoors. Mike was a very caring, kind, and loving person; AND LOVED BY ALL.
He is survived by his best friend and wife, June Williams-Hopson and her parents Roy and Marie Davis; her sisters,
Sabrina of Falls Church Va. and Bernadine and her husband Dewain Carpenter of Partlow Va.; his parents, Margaret and James Kibler of Westminster Md.; daughters, Michelle Taylor and her husband Randy Taylor of Louisa, Jessica Hopson and Jamie Stewart of Taneytown Md.;
his sister, Bonnie Labraa of Grandee Island NY.; brother,
Brian Hopson of Westminster Md. ; step-sister, Ruthann of
Hampstead Md.; step-brothers, Warren, Danny, Mark of
Westminster Md.; grandchildren, Luis Esteban of Westminster,
Miranda Courtney and Elizabeth Brothers of Ohio and Aalyas Coleman of Louisa.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 6, 2007 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel in Louisa. Visitation will also be held Tuesday, August 7, 2007 from 10-11 a.m. Following visitation, funeral services will begin at 11:00 p.m. in the chapel officiated by Bishop Michael Jackson of Emanuel Christian Center and Elder Roy Davis of Church of Northern Virginia. Burial will follow in The Hillcrest Cemetery with the Strike Force and
Honor Guard performing graveside.
