On June 30, 2019, Maurice Donnell Buckner was peacefully called home.  He was born on June 11, 1953 in Louisa, Virginia to Deloris Johnson and the late Hosea Johnson.  He was preceded in death by his father and only child Corey West. Maurice enjoyed fishing and cooking.  He also had a knack for roasting pigs. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved mother, Deloris Johnson of Mineral, VA; 5 sisters Berlinda Robinson (Wilbur) and Canest West both of Mineral, VA, Connie Cartwright and Cynthia Johnson both of Richmond, VA, and Geraldine Norfleet (William) of Washington, D.C.;  3 brothers, Hosea Johnson Jr. and Lowell Johnson both of Richmond, VA, and Rodney Johnson (Chrishwana)of Charlottesville, VA, a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, beloved cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held noon Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Laurel Hill Baptist Church 7652 Kentucky Spring Road Mineral, Virginia 23117. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
