Maud Ease Brown was born on February 18, 1926 in Louisa County, Virginia to the late Frank and Annie Clark Brice. She entered peacefully and quietly into eternal rest on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia.

She was a member of County Line Baptist Church of Kents Store, Virginia. Maud participated in the daily activities offered by JABBA at the Betty J. Queen Intergenerational Center in Louisa, where she made many friends.

Words such as friendly, funny, and full of laughter best describe Maud to us. She had a contagious laughter and readily made others around her laugh. She was a loving and devoted mother to her only child Nell (Nellie). She moved to Philadelphia in 1960 and carved out a life for her and Nellie. She was a hard and dedicated worker. Maud retired from Honeywell Inc. in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Annie Brice, her husband, Beuford Brown, two sisters Susie Brice Mallory and Bessie Brice Brown and one brother Clinton Brice.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and truly devoted daughter, Nell (Nellie) Johnson, a brother, Richard Brice of Unionville, Virginia, three nieces Ineeter Brown of Temple Hill, Maryland, Lillian Brown, and Shirley Brown of Washington, D.C., two nephews, Willie Brice and Calvin Mallory of Louisa, Virginia, and a caring cousin, Concha Tinsley of Columbia, Maryland along with a host of other cousins and friends.

A family and friends gathering to celebrate her life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2011 at County Line Baptist Church Kents Store,VA; with the Rev. Walter H. Jones, Sr., pastor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
