God in his infinite wisdom and devine providence called his beloved daughter, Mary Virginia Williams, 95, from labor to reward on Sunday January 1, 2017 at Louisa Health & Rehab Center Louisa, Va. Mary was born Saturday, April 23,1921. She was preceded in death by her parents, Deacon John J. and Kate Lewis-Williams; sisters, Catherine Fletcher-Harrison, Florence Johnson, Jeanette Anderson, and brother John M. Williams, and a loving niece-like daughter, Connie Trice.

Mary was also known as: Ginia, Gin, Miss Virginia, Aunt Virginia, Grandma, Miss America, and "Mother" (My Big Baby). She was a quiet and humble person who loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted member of the Eagle Baptist Church where she joined at an early age and could be found on any given Sunday in an outfit coordinated by her daughter, including a beautiful dress or suit with matching hat, shoes, pocketbook, and "earbulbs" as she liked to call them. Mary attended church faithfully until her admission to the Louisa Health & Rehab Center.

Proceeding the Louisa Health & Rehab Center, the JABA Day Care was a second home to her. She loved their caring staff and socializing with the other clients often. Even though she had a quiet spirit, she had a way of stealing your heart when you met her therefore she made many friends. Her gift and ability to spoil and rock to sleep many children allowed her title them all "Grandma's Babies". Her favorite past times were sewing, making yo-yo spreads, watching "Touched by An Angel", listening to the Word Network, and singing at family functions upon request. Other favorites included hard candy, mentos mints, beets, sweet potatoes and taking any road trip she could heading to either Charlottesville, Va or Maryland with her bags packed.

She leaves many affectionate hearts to mourn her loss and imitate her example: a devoted, caring, faithful, and loving daughter, Diane Comfort (Frank Jr.); two granddaughters, Angela Brown (Geoffey) and Anita Comfort (Nathaniel Herbert); one God-Grandson, Rodney Gatewood; eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Celebration services will be held at 2 p.m. On Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Eagle Baptist Church, 4683 Mt. Airy Road, Louisa, VA with Reverend Roger Braxton officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
